Here at My Dad Rocks we love watching a good band move away from a relatively obscure place in the music industry and into the limelight. With their new EP out today, The 1975 have seen themselves reach No.6 in the iTunes album chart - hopefully a sign of success to come.
The Manchester outfit have been described as having a 'beautiful, sensitive swagger' by Huw Stephens, and their anthemic sound is gathering fans far and wide, online and off. With new material currently being written, now is an excellent chance to make sure your familair with The 1975 if you're not already. You won't regret it.
And if you like what you hear, make sure you catch up with them live - they're touring the UK in May, details as follows:
Wed 22nd May Newcastle Northumbria University
Thur 23rd May Sheffield Queens Social Club
Mon 27th May Glasgow Oran Mor
Tue 28th May Birmingham HMV Institute Library
Wed 29th May London Heaven
Fri 31st May Portsmouth Wedgewood Rooms
