Grammy Award winning guitarist Frank Gambale is well and truly back with this excellent Jazz infused new LP. Cynics need not apply, but music lovers who enjoy a good groove should definitely get involved.

Gambale originally came to public notice in the early 80's when he innovated the sweep picking guitar technique now standard amongst top players, and with this album he shows that time hasn't slowed him down.

Whether it's laid over the driving groove of 'Live Your Dream' (track 2), or the smooth half-time rhythm of 'Keep Leadin' Me On' (track 7), the guitar is definitely the star of this particular release. The licks are confident, well-produced and sit perfectly - demonstrating the excellent skill of Gambale without doing so at the expense of other elements.

This LP is far from a one trick guitar pony. Smooth vocals, a dynamic rhythm section and lead guitar all fit perfectly in the mix to create a truly refreshing release in an industry dominated by the battle between dance pop and indie/rock.

The one caveat is that those too cynical to give the jazz sensibilities a chance will not find much to love here. At times, it could be argued that it's little more than decent backing music for an upmarket dinner party. But to dismiss it on these terms is to ignore the supreme skill and musicianship that's gone into it. Great stuff.
