“Mercury always engage. Energetic grooves mixed with warmth and lyricism – a perfect combination” - Gwilym Simcock

Formed out of a bunch of music students from RNCN, Mercury performed their first gig at the Manchester Jazz Festival back in 2012. Here they were discovered by a group of organisers at the legendary Kings Place in London, who were so impressed by the group’s sound that they invited them to play at King’s Place itself, propelling the band into a new level of recognition.

Mercury has since gone on to be nominated for awards such as the Whittingham Jazz Award in 2013, their lead member Tom Thorp making it to the grand finals of the Taichung International Sax Competition. Developing their sound to incorporate elements of electronica, psychadelia, classical and indie, they have been slowly reshaping jazz for a 21st Century audience, and now have a brand new album in the pipeline titled Sea Speak.

Listeners wanting a taster of the band’s upcoming album can listener to this demo version of title track ‘Sea Spark’, a progressive and smoky piece that builds and ebbs like the ocean itself. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mBH-SUC7EoI

'One of the most authentic and open artists to emerge from the region in years'

A progressive, authentic, fluid and dynamic artist, Omar Kamal is set to be the first global star to hail from Nablus, Palestine. Born in 1992, Omar spent his early years listening to classical and world music and playing the piano until he discovered his life-long passion, singing. Omar’s multi-cultural influences have given him a rich taste in music ranging from Frank Sinatra, Michael Jackson, to Arabic idols such as Mohammed Abdel Wahab, and even modern trendsetters like The Weeknd.

Omar has a musical background, at the age of nine he started playing the piano, by the age of fourteen he attended an international music festival in Germany where he was introduced to the world of classical music. Since then Omar's love for the classical world intensified also taking up violin lessons before deciding to focus on vocals and piano which led Omar to find a more contemporary sound.
During university years, Omar was lead vocalist of the University's Big Band, where he toured the UK and participated in competitions, which led him to the realisation that music was his ultimate passion. On a trip back to Palestine, Omar organised a local concert in the hope that it would kick-start his professional career in music for himself and his band, and this caught the eyes of Sony Music Middle East and Omar signed a multi-year recording and management contract in late 2014. Known as the Palestinian Frank Sinatra, Omar even sat with Tina Sinatra and had a chat, he managed to let her know that her father had heavily influenced and changed Omar’s life. Omar very often experiments with his music and adds new sounding elements which all adds to the uniqueness of Omar's music.

Omar's single 'Love Never Felt So Good' showcases the powerhouse vocals that Omar has been blessed with, it is a classic take on the Michael Jackson hit. With a perfectly fitted video to go alongside the track, with a vintage, retro feel, it complements the vocals extremely well, what makes the track even more special is that Omar works with the same guitarist that worked on Michael Jackson’s ‘Dangerous’ album - the legend that is Tim Pierce. Omar has a forthcoming album too, work on the album began in early 2015 with Canadian producer Dave Pierce and legendary producer Bob Rock, not one to shy away from working with legends, ‘Love Never Felt So Good’ was mixed by 23 time Grammy award winning Al Schmitt at Capitol Studios in Hollywood. Omar hopes to be able to bridge the musical gap between East and West and bring everyone together all through the power of music.

For lovers of Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and Fleetwood Mac, Ian Martyn's expressive and greatly inspiring new single 'I Can Feel Your Power' epitomises the support and comfort that art can bring to people especially at their darkest times in life. In Ian's case it’s living with the earth shattering experience of losing both his wife and mother in the space of just 5 months.

As well as using his dreams to inspire his lyrics (I Can Feel Your Power) he visited a Tibetan monastery in Scotland to study Buddhism in order to help him manage the difficulties of his new life. At the monastery he had the unusual experience of meeting a soul-mate and felt a severe case of' Déjà Vu'.

Ian Martyn's unique approach to writing his music is that of writing the lyrics as a wholly meaningful and poetic piece of literature, so beautiful that the words alone just scream out for music. Ian's music aids the healing process of any kind of personal strife or bereavement and is the perfect soundtrack to finding a new directions in life.

Although Ian doesn't gig or tour he has some very notable people who have performed on his music. Richie Buckley (from Van Morrison) played the saxophone on the track 'Déjà vu' who Peter Eades (Clannad) also performed drums on. Larry Hogan, Ian’s co-producer, on ‘I Can Feel Your Power’ and ‘Déjà vu’ has worked with Clannad, Thin Lizzy, Bob Geldof, Ronan Keating, to name but a few.

You can listen to ‘I Can Feel Your Power’ here:

His other co-producer Richard 'Digby' Smith for 6 of the other album tracks also played some bass and supporting keyboards on some tracks. ‘Digby' has worked on such artists music as Bad Company's Album, Led Zeppelin's 3rd and 4th albums, Bob Marley, Eric Clapton, Cat Stevens, John Martyn (many more of note) and humbly possesses 2 Gold Disc awards and has had 2 No.1’s simultaneously worldwide that he engineered.

Alongside his emotional life journey Ian features international artists for his music artwork. Some artists worthy of note are Jack Vettriano (on 'Why Don't You Tell Me'), Leonid Afremov and Sera Knight (on 'You Are The One'), Laurie Hamilton, Adam Scott Miller, Delmary and (on 'I Can Feel Your Power') Daniel Eskridge (on 'Dance With Spirits'), Rassouili and Josephine Wall (on 'Déjà Vu').

They have all said they are delighted and honoured to have a share in Ian's journey and adding an extra dimension to Ian's enlightening music.

Vintage inspired rock and roll artist Cado, brings us a refreshingly nostalgic EP ‘Take Me Back’ set for release 12th August.
Having been born half a century too late in 1990, Cado is a modern rock and roll artist with an obsession for music of the past! After stealing a Beatles album from a record shop aged 10, he was inspired to make music that will make people smile, dance and enjoy themselves!

Listen to/download the EP here: https://cadomusic.bandcamp.com/

Cado, who grew up in County Kildare, Ireland, was mesmerised at an early age by the sound of The Beatles and Chuck Berry and from then commenced a lifelong obsession with music! His father would perform Johnny B. Goode to him, and when he heard the hard hitting opening riff featured in back to the future at age 11, he did not hesitate to pick up a guitar and has rarely put it down since! The multi instrumentalist has toured the UK and Ireland with The Shades and in early 2016 he began recording a collection of songs inspired by the music he adores. The singer-songwriter takes a completely DIY approach, self recording and mixing everything in his home studio. Every instrument on the EP was performed by him allowing him make music that he truly loves.

The retro sounding EP has strong nods towards classic artists such as Little Richard and Jerry Lee Lewis. The EP is out on 12th August.

Effortlessly blending elements of pop, rock and jazz, fresh indie five-piece Goldsands come through with an excitingly unique and authentic sound.

Their latest single ‘A Place Far Away’ tells the story of a faded film star’s unlikely bond with a neglected young woman after crossing paths in Tokyo, drawing inspiration from cult classic movie Lost in Translation. Sonically it perfectly captures the size and scale of the movie’s cityscapes, whilst also encapsulating the mood of the relationship between the two characters.

Self-produced in a converted apartment in Birmingham, the track was later mastered by Geoff Pesche at the legendary Abbey Road Studios.

Goldsands’ genre-defying sound is most comparable to groups like Radiohead, The Beatles and Coldplay, and is the result of the band members’ eclectic musical backgrounds. Liam’s rock background provides a driving groove, Tom brings a jazz flare, Ramsey takes his cue from the experimental sounds of the 60's, James gives suitable guitar ambience and Matt is a sucker for a pop hook.

Two of the bands members Matt and Tom Rhodes are brothers, adding to the group’s tight sense of synergy.

The group is set to embark on a UK tour spanning from London to Edinburgh.

'Blue Skies' the single from his forthcoming album

Perth born and bred Matty T Wall is already well on his way to joining legends just like Dave Hole, Bon Scott (ACDC) and the John Butler Trio. “I am like an elastic band pulled really tight, ready to go,” he says. “That’s how I feel about my music.” In his youth following bands like Metallica and Sepultura he recognised how they honoured the blues masters before them, aspiring to be at their level he got into the blues and since Matty has "never gotten out of it."

Having studied many disciplines such as flamenco, swing jazz and funk Matty is recognised as a master of the guitar. He wrings raw emotions from as little as a single note by bending the strings of his beloved 1961 Les Paul Custom into tantalising sounds that make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up to attention. He is not just playing music of the past though, he is redefining the genre with his modern stance and influences. " the fresh blood from dynamic youngsters Old Blood and MattyTWall, showing that age is not a factor in bringing out the Blues in people." - By Derek Cromb, announcer on 89.7 FM’s Play The Blues., Rhythm Magazine Blues At Bridgetown 2013

The 'Blue Skies' single showcases his creative playing through the wonderfully detailed virtuosic inflections he decorates his music with. As observed by Geoff Scott, "One of the best blues guitarists that I have ever witnessed. " from the White Star, Albany.
