Editors played an intimate gig last night at the City of London Nightclub Fabric. The set was showcasing new songs from their forthcoming 3rd album ‘In This Light And On This Evening’ being released on 12th October and was filmed for an Editors TV special for their website.

When I last saw Editors at The Roundhouse they were playing songs from their about to be released 2nd Album and made apologies to their fans for making them listen to new songs. Well, there was no need to apologise last night! The new tracks slipped seamlessly in with the old and they already seem like firm favourites. Even 2 of their 3 'encores' were from the new songs, ending with Bricks and Mortar which has all the makings of classic 'Anthem'

INVITING Radiohead to close Reading festival was a bit of a gamble. The experimental Oxford five-piece couldn’t be further from the heavy rock bands that usually headline on Sunday night. But any qualms were quashed by a spectacular, spine-tingling set from arguably the most influential indie band of the past decade and a half.

Before Radiohead came to the stage, a theatrical finale was already anticipated thanks to an electrifying performance from the New York-based Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Lead singer Karen O, dressed in a pink zebra-stripe jumpsuit, squirmed, sweated and screamed throughout the set. Her unstoppable energy was catching, as her charisma — and multi-coloured costume changes — lit up the grey sky.
